Compliance
Our obligations
As a property practice, we apply customer due diligence measures and comply with applicable anti-money-laundering legislation in the jurisdictions where we operate. We may ask you to provide documentation to verify your identity and, where relevant, the source of funds for a transaction.
Identification and verification
When instructed on a property transaction, we may request valid identification, proof of address and, for certain transactions, the source and legitimacy of funds. This reflects our legal duty and supports the integrity of every transaction we handle.
Reporting
Where the law requires, we may be obligated to report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities without disclosing the fact of that report to you. Our obligations in this area take precedence over other duties we may owe you.
Keeping records
We retain verification and transaction records in line with the retention periods required by applicable law. If you have questions about what documentation we hold, please contact us.
